Not only are Tuesday's well known as 'Taco Tuesday' but it just so happens that today is Tuesday, October 4th and what do you know, October 4th is National Taco Day!!!!

I find it really hard to believe that there is anyone out there that doesn't know what a taco is but incase you are unaware NationalTacoDay.com provides this description for you:

The word taco is the Mexican equivalent of the English word sandwich. The tortilla, which is made of corn or wheat, is wrapped or folded around a filling that is generally made of spiced proteins - beef, pork or fish.

As well as other delicious toppings such a cheese, salsa, pico de gallo, sour cream, lime, lettuce, tomatoes, avocados, onions, beans and basically whatever yummy goodness you can fit in your tortilla!

The only way to celebrate National Taco Day right, is to grub it down on some tasty tacos today! There's a bunch of spots in the Capital Region that I'm sure would be happy to accommodate your taco fix today or you can pick up some supplies and make your own at home! Mmmmm hommade tacos... Pro Tip from your resident Mexican: Heat your tortillas up in the pan.

BTW, if you are in need of a beverage to wash down those Tacos, today also happens to be #NationalVodkaDay so, celebrate accordingly!
