Recently I was in Lake Placid NY hunting giant alligators when I came across this sign which left me puzzled.

The sign says no parking this side and clearly points to the shore line. Is this meant as clever joke at the taxes payers expense or is this real issue? Are people in lake placid pulling up their “chitty chitty bang bang” vehicles and parking on a slope of  rocks that lead to the lake?

Perhaps this is just a mistake and the arrow is meant to point at the road but once they noticed it pointed at the water the towns workers said “Eff It” and left it thinking people wouldn’t notice or would see the hilarity in the ironic situation. Regardless of the truth behind the decision, I don’t want to know. It’s bad enough that town has giant alligators running rough shop on it, but now there are confusing road signs too!
