If it’s Saturday afternoon and I’m flipping through the channels to find "The Goonies" on cable, you can bet your smooth cocoa-buttered hiney that I’m going to watch it. The Goonies is an amazing, timeless film but is there really going to be a sequel? The rumors circulating say there will. According to TMZ, Richard Donner hinted that he may be working on a sequel to the best movie about treasure hunting teens who love slick shoes and giant misshapen-headed monster men.

I’m not sure how I feel about this information. On the one hand, it means we get more Goonies and more Corey Feldman. But on the other hand will this ruin the memories I already have for the original film. You can’t recreate greatness and sometimes too much of a good thing can be bad. I love ice cream but I don’t dare eat the entire half gallon. I love the Goonies but I don’t think we need a “Son of the Goonies” movie to fill the hole in my heart.
