With last night's Season 4 Finale of The Walking Dead, many are already going through zombie withdrawals. Sadly, we will have to wait until October for the show to return.

Now while the world of The Walking Dead is fictional, just how prepared are we if in fact a zombie apocalypse would occur like the one we see on TV?

For the state of New York, we'd get overwhelmed by zombies... badly.

Estately.com looked at several factors in determining a state readiness for the living dead. These factors include Military installations, Military veterans living within the state, how physically active is said state, number of people with guns, obesity levels within the state, and even the amount of laser tag enthusiast.

Crunching all the numbers, here are the Top 10 most prepared:

  1. Alaska
  2. Wyoming
  3. Colorado
  4. Idaho
  5. New Mexico
  6. Montana
  7. Arizona
  8. Nevada
  9. New Hampshire
  10. Wisconsin

New York falls in the bottom five of the list, ranking in at 48. New Jersey ranked dead last, pun intended. According to Estately.com, here's why we'd be among the dead quick:

If there were New York travel brochure for zombies it would tout the state’s lack of veterans, limited enthusiasm for survival skills, and scarcity of firearms.

That doesn't sound too promising for those us in the state. As the weather gets warmer, we'd recommend some survival and gun courses just as a precautionary measure. Also, hit the gym a little because you are going to be doing a lot of running.
