Fans always get nervous when they hear their favorite bands will be making an announcement, because it either means a new album or tour on the good side, or a hiatus or break-up on the bad side. More often than not the news is good, so lets hope this is the case for long-time, old school metal band Iron Maiden, who will be making an announcement to the public and their fans today at 4 pm.

The band's official website posted the following information yesterday:

Something of primal interest to all MAIDEN fans … Monday, January 2nd at 9 p.m. GMT [4 p.m. EST]."

The band added on Twitter, It's not a tour announcement and it's not a DVD announcement either. It will be something brought to you by the letter H....

That's not a very big clue Mr. Dickinson. "H" could stand for anything- hiatus, help, holiday, huge, etc.

"H"owever, the website didn't say it wasn't a new album, so perhaps it could be that? Last summer front man Bruce Dickinson confirmed that Iron Maiden would make at least one more album that would follow 2010's The Final Frontier. They should've save that name for this year's album, but I'm sure they will come up with something even better.

According to the article:

The Final Frontier sold 63,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to enter The Billboard 200 chart at position No. 4.

Are you an Iron Maiden fan? What do you think the announcement will be?
