Or you know, you can, if you want.

Oh man has this past weekend been an insane whirlwind! I had to take Monday off to try to fit it all in. I think the great part about it is that the whole weekend was completely out of my normal ya know?

Friday - I had all intentions of laying low getting some laundry done and and preparing for Saturday but that didn't go according plan because all week I kept thinking it was a day earlier than it was (thanks to 4th of July) and I volunteered to help drop off some stuff at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds for our sister stations big show on Saturday but totally forgot I still had a bunch of stuff to do so I ended up working super late and just crashing out.

Saturday - Was our sister station WGNA's Country Fest concert so I was up bright and early to help out. Although we had to fight a bit with Ma Nature we managed make the show happen and had a blast doing so!

Sunday - I was up early again to come in and rock it out on the Q for a few hours then I  had to head out to the 'cuse to check the aforementioned Phish show now let me start by saying that although I am not a Phish Phan I do generally enjoy most genres of music and with the following they have their is obviously something to it ...so I was curious. Also, a friend of mine was celebrating a pretty BIG birthday and the show was part of his birthday celebration.

If part of the Phish show plans hadn't included a limo bus there may have been a strong possibility of me passing on the show but they did and so I went. I'll be honest all of the pre-gaming was and absolute blast. Everyone on in the entire lot seemed to be having a good time and of course there were all the classic cliche's you would expect to find like dreads, drugs, and dancing. But nothing too too crazy (at least that I saw).

The show was at the new Lakeview Amphitheater in Syracuse and although it was a bit of a hike to get to the actual venue from the parking lot it was well worth it because the view and the sound were pretty amazing.

The crowd was HUGE and everyone was pretty chill lots of family's on the lawn too which always throws me for a loop when I'm drinking but they were all pretty cool and attentive of their children and such so props to you for starting the music early hippie parents.

Then the music started and the crowd went wild and there were many, many, people dancing with zero rhythm. Some with hula hops and glow sticks and basically what you would expect out of the crowd ... but I gotta be honest the music just didn't do it for me. I found my self a bit bored by intermission and ended up spending the rest of the show people watching. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't know any tunes or if 25 minute guitar jams just aren't my thing but at least I can say I made an effort and went to a show right? I think that unless it's a show that has a group of 40 of my friends going I'll probably not attend again. However, everyone I know seems to be into this stuff so who knows? Maybe that's their true purpose? Phish bringing friends together.

I'll tell you what, totally thankful for some tonight! See ya at SPAC!

Below are a few pics of the weekend I managed to grab before my phone died ... It's def going to be time to upgrade that thing soon!
