How Was Your 4th of July?
I feel sticky and dirty, a probably smell like campfire and there is probably ash in my hair or whatever fireworks turn into after they explode and fall back down to the earth and on my head.
Because the 4th of July was on a Monday this year, I had a really long day yesterday. I woke up at 4:30 a.m. to come here to the Q103 studio so that all of you could listen to the Free Beer and Hot Wings Morning Show, or at least the "Best Of."
After 10 a.m. I went home and tried to take a nap, but my 4-year-old son decided that I should not take a nap, instead he used me as a mat for him to perform amateur gymnastics on.
At 1:30 p.m., my wife, son and I had to drive from Latham to Malta for my nieces 6th birthday party, where I ate sandwiches and drank beer under the sun in the humidity. My niece got a lot of Shopkins, I don't understand Shopkins.
Seriously...what the hell was that?
We did not stay long, but we stayed long enough for the water balloon fight.
My son can not throw a water ballon hard enough to make it burst, so he started suicide water ballon bombing people.
After the party we drove from Malta to Latham and then to Albany for another party, where there was more beer and food, I kept eating although I was full because 4th of July food is good.
I built a fire and then stayed for fireworks.
That's about it.
Now I feel sticky, smokey and I probably have to go No. 2, that was a fun day.
I did not drink too much, I am not hung over and I am not even dirty enough to need a shower, I am just tired. I got to work today on time and did not even think of calling out.
Thank you America, how was your 4th of July?
