The 147th running of the Travers is happening tomorrow at the Sartoga Race Course (Saturday, August 27th). Gates are scheduled to open at 7 a.m., and the first post time is 11:35 a.m with the Travers race posting at 5:44pm. Apparently the Travers has pretty hefty purse and at the moment stands at $1,250,000. I guess last year the Travers had something like 50,000 people in attendance which not only made it the first sell out ever but also raised the purse in the process.

This year the race is expected to sell out again so our first piece of advice on a Free Advice Friday is to get your tickets ahead of time and get there early!
