The Memorial Day weekend box office numbers are in, and The Hangover II dominated all pulling in over $86 million, far more than the other sequel that opened up.

The Boys from The Hangover were back in theaters this weekend and as expected, America (along with the rest of the world) welcomed them back with open arms.  The sequel brought in some big bucks and beat the sequel to Kung Fu Panda by almost $40 million.

Last weeks number 1 and 2, Pirates and Bridesmaids, were knocked down to number 3 and 4 taking in far less money then the previous week.   Thor still remains in the top 5, taking in another $9 million.

I can't say that I'm surprised that the movie took in that amount of money and came in first place.  Since the trailer hit the internet the film has had huge buzz.  I didn't get a chance to see it yet, but it looked like it was going to be the same movie in a different place.  Audiences didn't seem to mind though.   I hope that they enjoy their week at number one because next weekend X-Men: First Class opens up it will surely dominate.
