Film Based on Guns N’ Roses Book in the Works

A Guns N' Roses biopic could be on the horizon as talks are under way to turn the 2007 Marc Canter book ‘Reckless Road: Guns N’ Roses and the Making of Appetite for Destruction’ into a feature film.

According to MyGNRForum.com, the film will be a biopic and not a documentary. Co-author Jack Lue confirmed that talks are under way to make the film and Marc Canter announced that it will be made “by people that will do it right…I do have a big say-so on the script which is still being put together now but so far looking cool.”

Canter, who is the owner of the famed Canter’s Deli in Los Angeles is a childhood friend of Slash and was around Guns N’ Roses in their early days, serving as their official photographer.

In a separate post, Canter says he hopes to get frontman Axl Rose’s blessing for the biopic. He wrote, “As you all know Axl doesn’t support anything to do with the old band except playing their songs live. However I do think he will be happy with the fact that it will clear up some stories that have been said about him from those days that were told incompletely.” Canter added, “So setting the record straight on some of those events will be a good thing for him to see happen. Axl should know by now that I have his back and that it will be done right.”
