Guilty Pleasures Continued–Movies

Last week I brought you the list of guilty pleasure songs.  This week we'll talk guilty pleasure movies. Not too different than guilty pleasure songs, movies can also be something that you are embarrassed about.  As guys it's not cool to like a "chick flick" but occasionally, there is one that we end up liking.  I am a victim of it, and no matter how much you deny it you are too.   Musicals, kid movies, sometimes they just hit you in a certain way and no matter how much you fight it, they quickly become one of your favorites.  Now are you going to sit there and watch these with your buddies?  No.  Are you going to see them in the theaters?  Maybe by yourself in a part of town where no one knows you.  As a huge movie person I probably have more guilty pleasure movies than most people.  I blame some on my girlfriend who exposes me to them.  So lets begin.

Grease:  I have loved this one since I was a kid.  The songs are catchy, and the story line is awesome.  Plus who wouldn't want to be Danny Zuko? The cool tough guy who gets the hot chick at the end.  I am not ashamed to say that not only is this a guilty pleasure of mine, but I also own it.

10 Things I Hate About You:  It's one of those stupid teen movies from the late 90's early 2000's that I can't look away from.  These ones are awful because you get sucked in and then start rooting for the guy to get the girl, I mean that is premise of all these right?

Dirty Dancing: I would be the first one to make fun of this one, and then secretly love it.  Nobody puts Baby in the corner. Is it corny?  Yes, but I bet there isn't one guy out there that wishes they could dance like that. Plus Jennifer Grey is pretty hot.  RIP P. Swayze

High School Musical 3:  Yeah that's right, I dig this stupid ass movie.  Can I tell you why? Absolutely not.  It makes me sick thinking that if I see it on, I will watch it.

The Sweetest Thing:  This movie is actually pretty funny for a chick flick.  Plus you add a hot Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate and I'm sold.  But no beating around the bush that this is such a girl movie.  This scene is one of my favorites.

The Princess Diaries:  Yeah this is what began my love affair with Anne Hathaway.  She has definitely broke away from these kind of roles.  Its stupid, corny and full of girl nonsense but I love it.

Enchanted:  What can I say, I am a sucker for musicals.  Especially ones with super catchy songs.  Enchanted is awesome too because it kind of pokes fun at how ridiculous animated movies are.  If you haven't seen this one do yourself a favor and check it out.

Love Actually:  This is actually a new one for me.  Total chick flick, but a damn good movie.  You can't help but fall in love with the characters and there are a ton of stars in it.  Plus at the end of the film it has my biggest guilty pleasure Christmas song.

So those are just a few of my biggest guilty pleasures when it comes to movies.  Trust me there are many, many more.  I think that no matter how much us guys deny and fight it, we love chick flicks.  But if anyone is asking it's all blood and guts all the time. Unless of course no one is looking.
