Gov. Andrew Cuomo has added a new addition to the household. A puppy.

According to the Times Union, the Governor has a new dog named Captain. The 14-week-old pup was introduced to everyone at the Executive Mansion Monday during the State Conference of Mayors. He could be seen joking in the video posted to his official Twitter page (see below).

Captain is a shepherd, Siberian, malamute mix who was acquired at the suggestion of his daughters who the Governor said, "had to have a puppy, and are nowhere to be found now."  The Governor struggled a bit at the podium with the pup in his arms as he talked about Captain working on house training or "mansion training" as he put it.

Great to see the Governor having fun, showing a different, not so serious side. Such a cute pup, we wish him and the Cuomo family well.
