After 15 years of riding the road, touring the world and playing countless shows together, drummer Ginger Fish of Marilyn Manson has announced that he is leaving the band.

Franklin Kenneth Wilson, better known as "Ginger Fish," has been the reliable, loyal, talented drummer for Marilyn Manson since 1996. He's decided he has had enough.

He simply wants to pursue other ventures:

I have decided to step down as a member of Marilyn Manson and see where my life, and the knowledge of my availability cares to take me, Fish said in a statement. I can't stand by to watch opportunities pass me by simply because the knowledge of my availability wasn't clearly expressed by me. I wish my brothers well, and I expect nothing but great things from them.- noisecreep.com

I don't blame Fish at all. After a decade and a half with the same people, doing the same, monotonous thing day after day would make a lot of people want to call it quits. He has done an amazing job as drummer though, and should be very honored by his band, along with everyone else. I imagine he started to lose his sense of individuality; his own identity. For years he's only been known as Mariyln Manson's drummer, not as a single person. That will start to change now as he goes out on his own.

I'm sure we will see nothing but success from him going forward, and I am excited to see where this new chapter in his life will take him.

Marilyn Manson is currently working on his new album. His latest work was "The High End of Low," which debuted in 2009. There is no word on how or if Fish's departure will affect the release at all. Either way, Manson is amazing and will no doubt make a great record.
