Full Marvel Phase 2 Preview Video: First Looks at ‘Thor 2,’ ‘Captain America 2,’ ‘Ant-Man’ and More

Marvel Phase 2 preview
Marvel

Included as one of the bonus features on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Phase 1 Blu-ray box set is a five-minute preview video looking at the upcoming Marvel movies like ‘Thor 2,’ ‘Captain America 2,’ ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ ‘Ant-Man‘ and ‘Avengers 2.’ If you haven’t gotten your copy of the Blu-ray box set yet, don’t worry: we’re giving away a copy this Friday. And if you just can’t wait to see that Marvel Phase 2 preview video, you can watch it right here, right now.

The first part of this video focuses on ‘Iron Man 3,’ the launching point of Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and obviously the film with the most to show. But before long, we’re introduced one-by-one to the rest of the films we can anticipate over 2013, 2014 and even 2015.

‘Thor: The Dark World’

‘Thor 2′ is the only other film besides ‘Iron Man 3′ to have actual footage and while the CGI isn’t completed yet, we do get to see some footage from the film, including our first look at Natalie Portman as Jane Foster on Asgard.

‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’

Because ‘Captain America 2′ only began filming this week, there’s nothing in the way of actual footage to show but we do get to see some animatics of Cap in action, plus the first concept art of Bucky as Winter Soldier and Anthony Mackie as Falcon.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’

Half of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ isn’t even cast yet (all we know so far are that Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista will star as Star-Lord and Drax, respectively) so we only have concept art for this film, but it really shows how different this movie will look than any of the other Marvel movies.

‘Ant-Man’

While the video doesn’t show the entire ‘Ant-Man’ presentation Edgar Wright brought to 2012 Comic-Con, we do get glimpses of a finished version (the Comic-Con footage still had incomplete visual effects). We still believe this video to be more of a “proof of concept” so it remains to see how close Ant-Man will look to what we see in this video in the actual movie.

Joss Whedon appeared briefly at the end to discuss ‘The Avengers 2′ but as you can imagine, there wasn’t much they could (or would) talk about at this time. You can watch the full Marvel Phase 2 preview video below and see all of the exciting updates for yourself!
