Happy Birthday today (April 28) to Scott Putesky aka Daisy Berkowitz. The ex Marilyn Manson guitarist is 49.

Marilyn Manson was formed in 1989 by Scott Putesky (Daisy Berkowitz) and Brian Warner in 1989 out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The band originally went by the name Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids, and they gained a cult following in the Fort Lauderdale area for their performances in the early 1990’s. The band wore makeup and bizarre costumes on stage and were known for their shocking antics on and off the stage. Performances were deemed too obscene and offensive by religious groups and controversy followed the band often.

Scott Putesky left the band during the recording of the 1996 album Antichrist Superstar. The album launched the band into mainstream success, selling over 7 million records worldwide and featuring the single “The Beautiful People”. Putesky currently lives in New Rochelle, NY and was diagnosed with stage-four colon cancer in 2013. We wish him well as he continues the fight to this day.
