Kristi Capel, a newscaster at WJW-TV Fox 8 in Cleveland, is probably going to want this one back.

On Monday while talking about Lady Gaga's performance at The Oscars, where she sang a musical medley tribute to "The Sound of Music," it seemed like Capel was trying to pay Lady Gaga a compliment. But she failed miserably.

Capel was saying how Gaga's voice sounded good "without all the jigaboo music" that usually surrounds her vocals.

Yup. That's a racial slur. And it's made even worse by the fact her co-anchor is an African-American.

Obviously, people complained.

Capel replied back on Twitter, claiming she didn't know what the word meant or that it was even a word at all.

So, that begs the question: If you didn't know it was a word, then why did you say it in the first place?
