Former Red Sox Manager Terry Francona Lands New Job

It was expected that Francona would quickly be picked up by another team in MLB. But this gig is a little different.

WEEI.com (Boston sports talk) reports that Terry will be an analyst on Fox for the first 2 games of the American League Championship Series. Word is that everyone’s favorite color man (that’s sarcasm) Tim McCarver will be out with some health issues but is expected back for game 3 of the ALCS.

Francona probably wasn’t thinking about a broadcasting job, but who knows? Maybe he’ll really enjoy it and try that road. They better make sure someone else is in charge though. I don’t think anyone wants to hear about any beers in the broadcast booth.
