Former Need for Speed Devs Unveil Racing MMO
Slighty Mad Studios, an independent studio who made Need for Speed: Shift in 2009, has unveiled World of Speed, its free-to-play, massively multiplayer online racing title.
World of Speed plans on offering a variety of cars from street racers to F-1 quality cars. Its tracks are based on actual racetracks from a variety of areas across the globe. World of Speed will utilize multiple social elements to focus on multiplayer and team-based races, offering real-time connectivity in its array of race-modes. Slightly Mad has also announced World of Speed will be continuously supported with additional content post-release, such as live events, new modes, cars, tracks, etc.
World of Speed is expecting to do its closed beta this Spring. Would-be drivers can sign up for a chance at playing the beta at the official World of Speed website.
