Foo Fighters Make Official Band Announcement … And It’s Brilliant

Trust me, you're going to want to read this.

If you were paying attention to the internet at all today then you probably knew that everyone was freaking out about a report that the Foo Fighters were basically breaking up and Dave Grohl was heading out on his own solo. The rumors were fueled even more by a tweet the band put out stating an official band announcement was coming tonight (I'll post my original post on the topic below for review in case you missed anything).

What is happening right now?

Last night the Foo Fighters sent out this tweet:

And people start freaking out! Especially since the people over at Page Six are reporting that the Foo Fighters were essentially breaking up and that there is all kinds of tension between Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins because as their source says the bands current break isn't really a break but Dave Grohl going solo. Some people were even saying that Dave's solo performance at the Oscars was the start to his solo career. Naturally the internet went crazy tweeting at the band and asking them not break up.

Now I'm not sure who exactly their source is but I'm hoping they are seriously off their rocker. That actually seems to be the case because even though a spokesmen for the band wouldn't comment on Dave's plans for the rest of 2016 he did tell Entertainment Weekly that the idea of a break-up was “utterly ridiculous”. I don't want to breathe a sigh of relief quite yet but that statement is a bit reassuring. So now we wait ... What do you think this big announcement is all about?
