It was announced last week that Flyleaf vocalist Lacey Sturm would be departing from the band after 12 years. She has been the front woman since day one, so in a way it's the end  of an era. However, a replacement has been named along with the release of the new album, which is available for streaming in its entirety

Lacey has decided to part ways with the band in order to be a full-time mother to her one and a half year old son Joshua "Jack" Lewis Sturm. Former Vedera singer Kristen May has stepped up and taken over at a critical time, as Flyleaf's third studio album (their last with Lacey) New Horizons released today. It can be heard below:

So far the record has produced two singles, the title track and "Call You Out."

As Flyleaf begins this new cycle to introduce our third record, New Horizons, we feel our fans should know that Lacey has stepped down as lead vocalist of the band. Her statement below expresses her reasons for leaving. In order to continue on with New Horizons, Sameer, Jared, James, and myself have selected Kristen May, formerly of Vedera, to assume lead vocal duties for future tour dates. We are excited for this new chapter in the history of Flyleaf, and hope that our fans will accompany us as we continue on this journey to bring hope and inspiration through our music. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the years and we are looking forward to playing for you again soon.

As the band picks off where Lacey left it, New Horizons is a superbly fitting title for the album. Watch the title track's video below:
