As Five Finger Death Punch near the finish line to the release date for ‘Volume 1’ of their forthcoming double-album 'The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell,’ the band is getting fans pumped up with the latest edition of their new webisode series that walks through the songs track-by-track.

In the new webisode, the band dig into the first single, ‘Lift Me Up,’ featuring none other than Judas Priest’s Rob Halford. While it generally goes without saying that most rock and metal bands are fans of Rob Halford and Judas Priest, not many newer bands can claim that Halford has publicly claimed to be a fan of theirs, but Five Finger Death Punch has that distinct honor.

As frontman Ivan Moody explains on the webisode, the idea for the collaboration was sparked after an episode of VH1’s ‘That Metal Show’ with Halford as the guest. Halford was asked to share what some of his favorite newer bands were and he responded with none other than Five Finger Death Punch.

Moody had nothing but praise for Halford. "I grew up listening to him," he said. "The guy is an icon for music and just in general." So it seemed only natural for the band to reach out to him to see if he’d be interested in working with them on a song for their new disc, and thus the first single ‘Lift Me Up’ was born featuring the original Metal God.

‘The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell Volume 1′ is currently available for pre-order at iTunes and Amazon with ‘Volume 2′ coming this fall. Also, catch 5FDP co-headlining this year’s Mayhem Festival with Rob Zombie.
