FOX’s X-Files revival definitely threw some cold water on the prospect of reviving old TV series with new seasons, but will Prison Break manage to break the mold? New casting details have seen several additions to the new series, as well as negotiations for original series stars, and our first details of the plot.

Per Deadline, Augustus Prew, Rick Yune and Steve Mouzakis have joined the new season in heavily recurring roles opposite returning stars (and Legends) Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell, Those latter two have emerged as the only original stars thus far, though the series is negotiating for Sarah Wayne Callies, Robert Knepper, Rockmond Dunbar and Amaury Nolasco to reprise their respective roles as Sara, T-Bag, C-Note and Fernando.

As to what bring the Prison Break crew back together (and seemingly undoes Michael Scofield’s apparent death from The Final Break), the new season would see “Fernando, C-Note, Lincoln, and Sara go on a mission to rescue Michael from Yemen where he is imprisoned after faking his death.”

On the creative side, the revival will return original Prison Break creator and producing team Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead, Scheuring serving as showrunner and writer.

Stay tuned for the latest, particularly as original series star sign up for their roles.
