Happy Birthday today (Feb. 22) to Creed and Alter Bridge drummer Scott Phillips. He's 43. Also celebrating is guitarist Akira Takaski of Japanese metal metal band Loudness (55).

Scott Phillips is known as the drummer and co-founder of the rock bands Creed and Alter Bridge. Creed were one of the most popular rock bands of the late 1990's and early 2000's featuring Phillips aloing with singer Scott Stapp, guiatrist Mark Tremonti, and bassist Brian Marshall. The band released My Own Prison in 1997 and Human Clay in 2009. In 2000, bassist Brian Marshall left the band and Creed carried on as a three piece and releasing the album Weathered in 2001. All three albums went multi-platinum and the band has sold over 50 million albums worldwide. The band is currently on hiatus.

Phillips and Tremonti formed Alter Bridge in 2004 along with bassist and former Creed bandmate Brian Marshall and singer Myles Kennedy. For more on Alter Bridge, check out the band's official website here.
