Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras

I am so confused. Today I am supposed to binge on whatever I am giving up for lent, while wearing a mask and asking girls to show me their breasts for beads and make a confession? 

I was not to sure about what Mardi Gras is so I googled it. Now I am confused.

It is "Fat Tuesday" today we are supposed to live it up! Because tomorrow is the start of lent. That makes sense.

Where I get confused is Mardi Gras.

What is the purpose of dressing up in some weird costume and partying on the streets of New Orleans during a crazy parade, where you can get woman to show you their breasts and possibly more in exchange for beads.

Apparently it is supposed to be single peoples counter to Valentine's Day, but we all know that couples go out for Mardi Gras.

And does this coincide with Fat Tuesday?

Are single people trying to give up being single for Lent?

What if they fail?

Are we supposed to give up boobies for Lent?

How is a woman supposed to give up boobies for Lent?

Or what about a fat guy with man boobs? Well I think we know what they should give up for Lent.

And what about the confession part?

If I am wearing a mask or a costume while confessing anything, I would feel like I am doing it wrong.

Are woman showing people their breasts because they are confessing that they have breasts? And if they are wearing a costume while doing this, then are they really confessing?

What if you are not Christian, Catholic, Single or living in New Orleans?

In conclusion, I am an American, New Orleans has that french influence, but it is part of America and it is their constitutional right to celebrate Mardi Gras.

As for Lent, I am not very religious, but I was raised Catholic. So I will try.
