Reference Etiquette

  1. Make sure your references have given you permission to use them
  2. Make sure your selected references will honestly and positively offer information about your work ethic, character and performance
  3. Prepare a complete list of references that includes name, company, phone and email information, relationship to you when you worked together
  4. Have at least 3 professional references available, preferably all 3 should be former and current supervisors a combination of peers and supervisors are OK
