ESPN’S Skip Bayless Suggests Derek Jeter Is Using Performance Enhancing Drugs
If you have never heard Skip Bayless rant endlessly about the rubbish he calls a sports opinion, you missed a treat today. Bayless called out Yankee Captain, Derek Jeter, for his stellar season at such a late stage in his career. Bayless suggested that Jeter might be dabbling in the HGH, Human Growth Hormone.
Skip Bayless’ rants are famous. He’ll spout off at the mouth about damn near everything and stand his ground. If Bayless thought the world was flat, he’ll give you ten facts on how he came to that thought. The problem is that ole Skip never seems to listen to the likes of Columbus. This morning, Bayless took to Yankee Captain, Derek Jeter, for his latest rant. Now, Bayless might be in some hot water with Bomber fans.
On his show, First Take, Bayless states as quoted by Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News:
““I am shocked by what I am seeing from Derek Jeter right now,” Bayless said, noting that the 38-year-old shortstop has already eclipsed his hit and home run totals of last season.” Bayless continues ““I would have to be sight- and hearing-impaired not to at least wonder, because there is no HGH test in the sport of baseball,” Bayless said. “They do not blood test; they do it one time in spring training for HGH, not again the rest of the year. How could I not wonder, ‘Is he using something?’ If you’re Derek Jeter, would you think about using HGH right now? Because I would. How would you not? Would you not think about it?”
The Captain had a pretty good response, as quoted in USA Today by Scott Gleeson “Whenever you have people that anytime you bring something like this to light with guys that are doing things, it’s like, now you have everybody questioning everything. That’s the unfortunate thing. Maybe Skip should be tested.”
Usually, players that are busted for HGH or other performance enhancing drugs deny til their out of breath. I love Jeter’s response here. Instead of the standard “I don’t take performing enhancing drugs”, the Captain responds with “Maybe Skip should be tested.” Ha! Agreed, Jet, agreed. Maybe Skip Bayless’ brain is a tad foggy. Would explain this gibberish rant.
What are your thoughts? Jeter is leading the MLB in hits with 168 and he is 38 years old. Is Jeter defying Father Time or do you think there is a hint of truth in the Bayless blasphemy?
