In another terrible example of a school not budging on a stupid zero-tolerance policy, an eighth grader on Oregon was suspended because he refused to change the shirt that he wore to school recently.

His shirt shows a pair of boots, a helmet and a gun, with the words "Standing for those who stood for us."  Now obviously, this is a representation of his patriotism, but the school didn't see it that way.

The Vice Principal of the school saw the shirt and pulled the student into the office and asked him to change it because it had a gun on it. To his credit, the student refused. The student's father was called and he was sent home for the day and then subsequently suspended.

The student's family says that he was wearing the shirt to show his patriotism and because his brother is a Marine.

Schools are really, really stupid sometimes.
