Straight out of Memphis, Egypt Central has a very distinctive sound that is well known to audiences in the Albany area, having played a festival or two in the past. The band was signed to LAVA Records in 2006 but downsizing caused them to be dropped from the label before they could complete their album. Their saving grace was the WWE using "Over and Under" and eventually was used in the film "The Condemned". Egypt Central toured as part of the Ozzfest tour and Family Values tour before signing with an independent label in 2007, releasing their self titled debut album in 2008.
