Eddie Van Halen is suing a contractor who messed up a remodeling project at the guitar legend's Los Angeles home. According to TMZ, the blunder cost Van Halen more than a million dollars.

The lawsuit was filed yesterday (Sept. 30) by Van Halen's family trust. It claims that the Troy Builders Group was hired five years ago for a remodeling and construction project on Van Halen's home.

According to the lawsuit, there were several major problems relating to the shoddy work, especially the waterproofing, including poor drainage, a leaky roof and chimney and badly installed gutters. They led to water entering the home.

The court documents also state that the guitar god's house suffered mold damage, including the elevator shaft in the home. Van Halen is suing the contractor for $1 million (which he said he spent to repair the damage) plus interest.
