Legen ... wait for it ... ... ... dary!

This Saturday, July 29th marks the 50th anniversary of the Doors hit single 'Light My Fire' hitting #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. It just so happens that the song is the first song that Doors guitarist Robby Krieger wrote for the band.

I got the chance last night to speak for a few minutes with Robby about a whole slew of cool Doors things coming up in celebration like the release of the limited edition reproduction of the original 7” single that was originally released in Japan in 1967 today, the 50th anniversary on Saturday, the Singles Collection coming out on September 15th, and Robby throwing out the first pitch at the LA Dodgers game.

Plus he reminisced a bit with us about the Doors infamous Ed Sullivan performance of 'Light My Fire', finding old lost recordings of the band live, and his ties to the Capital Region!

Join Q103 this Saturday as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of 'Light My Fire' hitting #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart by playing it on 7/29 at 7:29pm!
