Here's an interesting question that needs an answer. Does singer Micahel Poulsen of the metal band Volbeat sound like pop star Cher when he sings?

I've been a fan of the band Volbeat for some years now, and will always recall the moment my brother said to me that "the singer from Volbeat sounds a lot like Cher. " At first I wasn't sure how to react, but after some careful listening, I could see what he was saying. I've mentioned the Cher/Volbeat comparison to others over the years and the reaction has been mixed, with some agreeing and some not. A little background on the band Volbeat:

Volbeat is a metal band that formed out of Copenhagen, Denmark. The band’s current lineup features singer and rhythm guitarist Michael Poulsen, Rob Caggiano on guitar (formerly of Anthrax), and drummer Jon Larsen. All of Volbeat’s albums have gone gold in Denmark. The band has released five studio album’s and one dvd. Volbeat released the album Outlaw Gentleman and Shady Ladies in 2013. The album entered the Billboard 200 in the top 10 upon it’s release and sold nearly 40,000 copies it’s first week. They were later nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the track “Room 24″ featuring King Diamond. The band toured with Anthrax and Crobot in 2015. A new album entitled Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie is due out June 3.

Check out Cher singing "Dead But Rising" from Volbeat below. *Note: Obviously the video is Volbeat dubbed over a video of Cher performing in concert, but I happened to find it hilarious.
