Dick’s, Field & Stream Grand Opening This Weekend in Latham

Dick's Sporting Goods will be sharing a store with Field & Stream in Latham, and the grand opening celebration is this weekend.

The timesunion.com site reports that the giant new combined Dick's Sporting Goods and Field & Stream will meet the needs of lovers of the great outdoors offering everything from golf clubs to fishing gear and baseball bats to crossbows. The new, larger location at Latham Farms is 66,000 square feet. Spokesman Jeff Toler of Dick's Sporting Goods said "It's going to be a larger assortment, and there is more product on the floor geared to every type of sports." Field & Stream spokesman Chase McClain said that for people in the Saratoga area, "this is one stop shopping." He also said that the idea to bring Field & Stream to the area was the proximity to the Adirondacks and local interest in hunting, camping, fishing, and paddle sports.

The three-day grand opening celebration will run Friday through Sunday with the store opening at 8am Friday and Saturday, and 9am on Sunday. Celebrity guests including Jay Paul Molinere from tv's "Swamp" People" and Captain Wild Bill from Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch".
