Deftones Channel Katy Perry at Lollapalooza [VIDEO]

Over the weekend Lollapalooza took place and the Deftones were there to rip up the stage. The finished up their set with a classic Deftones tune and even went into a Katy Perry song in the middle of it.

It was a very unexpected thing when the Deftones broke into their version of Katy Perry's "Firework"during their closing song, "7 Words".  The crowd totally ate up the Deftones classic from their 1995 album Adrenaline, but seemed to go even more crazy once lead singer Chino Moreno started busting out the Perry hit.  I enjoy when a band mixes in another song with one of their own, and I think they did it in a unique way.

The Deftones are currently laying down tracks for a new album to follow up 2010's Diamond Eyes, one of the bands most successful albums.  That album will be out sometime next year.
