A video was posted today of Deftones bassist Chi Cheng lifting his leg on command. Cheng had been in a coma since 2008 after a car accident left him in a coma. Since May 2011 however, Cheng has woken up and was taken out of an intensive care unit.

His family and friends have been raising money for his treatment on One Love For Chi. Reports suggest that his family's insurance company cut off his coverage early in the treatment, forcing them to organise benefit shows and auctions of Deftones merchandise.

The rest of the Deftone members did not want to replace Cheng, so until the time that Cheng can rejoin the band, Quicksand bassist Sergio Vega has filled the position. Vega filled in for Cheng previously in 1999 after Cheng had become ill.

The band had previously recorded the album "Eros", but after Chengs accident the album was put on hold.

As we neared completion on 'Eros', we realized that this record doesn't best encompass and represent who we are currently as people and as musicians," read a statement on the Deftones website at the time.
