As we reported last night (May 30), drummer Dave Lombardo is no longer a member of Slayer. The band has been experiencing some serious turmoil this year, both before and after the tragic death of Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman. In Lombardo's first public response since Slayer announced that Paul Bostaph has taken Lombardo's place on the drum throne, the Slayer founding member has tweeted out his feelings on the sudden split.

An supposed financial dispute between took place very publicly in February of this year, resulting in Lombardo's exit from Slayer's recent Australian tour. Lombardo was temporarily replaced by Jon Dette for the Australian dates, and his future with the band remained uncertain.

On May 2, founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed away from liver failure. Fans were hopeful that the tragic loss of Hanneman would somehow bring the surviving original members of Slayer closer together, but unfortunately, it has not panned out that way.
