Create Fast, Multipurpose Digital Art Pieces
For those of you that are not tech-savy and artistic, there are creative commons laws that you should always look out for when you appropriate (aka steal) someone's work off the internet to make your own work. A new website is helping people create trendy digital pieces for almost any matter.
The site's called Wordle. It's simple to use. All you have to do is add your wording to the site and it generates a typographic word cloud for you to play around with. The site encourages users to use the pieces for t-shirts and profitable objects.
This new site is awesome and will keep you out of trouble and from getting a hefty lawsuit. My college has actually been using this website to create several of its promotional pieces. The site states "If you want to give credit to wordle.net, feel free! But it's not required." The owner of the site has so much potential to make a lot of money off of this, but simply making this open and free to everyone is so generous.
By the way, if you're feeling extra lazy, just copy a url into the url portion of the generator. The artwork is made from common words from the website link you copied into the generator. The piece I have presented is actually Q103's website. Pretty nifty!
Coming from an art major, the site's awesome but also a pain in the butt. To make these pieces from scratch with Adobe, it may take me about an hour or so to do this. The site simply does it in a matter of seconds. I'm just jealous for not thinking of this. The creator making art look so simple!
