You've heard it all before. The promises of amazing price cuts, rebates, and special pricing on a brand new car. Just how much of those promises are actually available to people like you and I? Or are they for those 'well qualified' buyers?

New York's Attorney General is taking dealerships around the state, including here in the Capital Region, to task on those advertised prices and rebates.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman says several dealerships in the area have mislead consumers in their advertising, noting some of the discounts and rebates were not available to most. All of the following have settled out, paid their fine, and promised to reform their advertising campaigns.

  • Albany Dodge
  • Denooyer Chevrolet
  • Depaula Chevrolet
  • Goldstein Auto Group
  • Lia Nissan
  • Zappone Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram

Armory Garage in Albany is also on Schneiderman's list and he plans to file a lawsuit against them shortly.
