In addition to fronting one of the biggest bands in the world, Slipknot's Corey Taylor has also become a prolific author. In a new interview with Metal Hammer (video above), Taylor says he's writing a new book called America 51 that will focus on "how bats--t crazy my country is right now -- in good ways and in bad ways."

In a separate interview with The Guardian, Taylor also discussed the book along with his 2016 plans for Slipknot and Stone Sour. "Gonna tour with Slipknot up until November, and in between tours I’ll be writing demos with Stone Sour," said Taylor. "Maybe even throw a book in, and a handful of solo acoustic shows. So same as it ever was – busy as usual."

He describes the content of his next book, saying, "The tentative title of the book is America 51, kind of a nod towards Area 51 -- basically about how wonderfully f--ked and irresponsibly abnormal my country is. It’s going to deal with everything from politics to social commentary -- it’s going to piss off a lot of people in my country, but everyone else will love it."

Taylor continues, "The current election cycle is a f--king mess. The only thing I can really compare it with was when the whole governor fiasco was going on in California, when Arnold Schwarzenegger won, and when everyone and his mother announced themselves as candidates. The fact that Donald Trump is still is viable candidate makes me want to eat my f--king shoes. There are too many candidates focused on dividing us, and not enough talking about bringing us together. And that’s one of the reasons why I support Bernie Sanders. And I will never support anyone who uses racism as a passive-aggressive way to win votes."

Slipknot have some time off before they hit the road this summer with Marilyn Manson and Of Mice and Men. The tour kicks off June 9 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
