Last night after a great day in Cooperstown, NY a bunch of us decided to hit the hotel bar.  Little did we know that we would be joined by Yankee legend Goose Gossage.

Here we are out in Cooperstown for the Classic Weekend.  It's such a beautiful place to be and you never know who you are going to run into while hanging out around town.  Being that it is the Classic weekend there are a few hall of famers in town for the Classic game on Sunday, including Goose Gossage.

To meet someone on the caliber of Goose Gossage, a New York Yankee legend was something that had me and everyone else a bit star struck.  To top it off, he was one of the nicest guys on the planet.

We had all explored the town a little bit and then decided to head back to the hotel bar for a little drink.  So as we sat there talking about how sweet it would be to meet some of these hall of fame players, Goose Gossage walks in and sits down at the end of the bar.  We didn't know what to do. Should we go up to him and say hi?  Leave him alone?  So finally we took the initiative to go over and introduce ourselves. The guy was so cool.  He sat down, had a beer with us and talked baseball. ESPN happened to be on playing highlights and Goose leans over to me and says "Did the Yanks win?"  I was like (in my head) did Goose Gossage just ask me if the Yankees won?  Seriously, one of the coolest days of my life.

Cool little Goose story. He told us that when he pitched he needed to look mean.  We all know the Gooses style.  He said that if his mother had stepped into the batters box and crowded the plate, he would say sorry mom, but I'm throwing at you.  Gotta love the Goose.
