In an update from over the summer, plans for the Albany skate park to finish construction by November have been pushed back to 2017.

We first reported on this courtesy of alloveralbany.com back in July when they revealed the design plans for the new Albany skate park in Washington Park. Skateboard enthusiasts will now have to wait a little longer as completion has been pushed back. In an update from alloveralbany.com, Brian Shea (the chief of staff to Albany mayor Kathy Sheehan said " the city is working diligently to bring this project to fruition by next summer. We have established a bidding and construction schedule with an anticipated completion date that coincides with National Go Skate Day in June of 2017." Shea also said that the original timeline for construction would have inflated costs of the project significantly. The project is scheduled to cost $200,000.
