Congrats to Coheed and Cambria singer Claudio Sanchez, who will see the vision he brought to his comic book series ‘The Armory Wars’ translated on the big screen.

Billboard reports that the vocalist has partnered with actor/producer Mark Wahlberg and his Leverage production company to develop a live action feature film based on the Evil Ink Comics page-turner.

Sanchez revealed his plans at San Diego’s Comic-Con. Further details about the film have not been released.

Sanchez’s artistic vision would seem a natural for the big screen. During his time with Coheed and Cambria, he’s woven a major story with multiple characters and story arcs and different layered facets into the music the band creates. Because of that dedication to detail and storytelling, it’s made a more enriching experience for fans of the band, who have delved into the story.

For ‘The Armory Wars,’ Sanchez set his comic in the universe of Heaven’s Fence, a world run by a tyrannical dictator named Wilhelm Ryan.

Coheed and Cambria’s most recent album was 2010′s ‘Year of the Black Rainbow.’ They’ve been working on new music and expect to release an album this fall. In the interim, they have dates booked beginning July 24 opening for Iron Maiden in North America.
