Children of Bodom's new album is titled I Worship Chaos, and chaos was a little bit of what singer/guitarist Alexi Laiho had to go through earlier this year when he organized 100 guitarists to take part in a special performance at the Helsinki Festival. Laiho and keyboardist Janne Wirman recently visited the Loudwire studio and discussed both the awesome guitar performance as well as their recent recognition on a Finnish postage stamp.

Laiho recalls being approached to write a 15-minute guitar piece for 100 guitar players and it definitely piqued his interest. "How do you say no to that? I had to do this," remarked the guitarist, who accepted the challenge, which came with its own set of difficulties. Laiho goes more in depth on the process in the video above, but says once it all came together he was thrilled with the results. "Once we got up to perform the damn thing it was mind-blowing," says the guitarist. "That crowd was pretty insane."

Wirman reveals that one of the biggest surprises of all was that most of the performers were not from the festival's native land. He revealed that some of the participants were younger kids from Mexico that launched a Kickstarter campaign just to fund their travel to take part.

Meanwhile, the guys also speak about recently being chosen to be part of a new postage stamp series in their native Finland. "Only in a country like Finland would they honor like metal and rock bands on it," says Wirman. "I thought it was a pretty cool thing." Check out the chat in full above.

Children of Bodom's I Worship Chaos album arrives Oct. 2. You can currently pre-order the disc at this location. And look for the band on tour at these stops.
