Supergroup Chickenfoot is almost ready with their sophomore album, Chickenfoot IV.  According to bass player Michael Anthony, this one is a lot heavier than the first one.

When the first Chickenfoot album came out in 2009 I immediately fell in love with the band.  This is what a supergroup should sound like.  In my opinion, this is what Them Crooked Vultires wishes they could be.  Here we are in 2011, and they are pretty much done with their second album.

This one, which will be called Chickenfoot IV simply because the band thought Chickenfoot II was to predictable, will be out sometime around October 2011.  They worked with well known rock producer Mike Fraser, who has previously worked with the likes of AC/DC, Aerosmith, Metallica, Motley Crue, Buckcherry and so many more.   I can't wait to hear the new stuff because the first Chickenfoot record was absolutely fantastic.

Drummer Chad Smith revealed that he won't be touring with the band this time around because of scheduling conflicts with his main band, The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
