Chernobyl was one of the worst disasters in the history of the planet.  So what took Hollywood so long to make a scary movie about it?

A horror movie that features a group of young Americans exploring spooky Western Europe, or in the case of 'The Chernobyl Diaries', Asia.  We'll get into geography later, but first lets talk about this movie.

It's a little bit of 'Hostel', mixed in with 'The Hills Have Eyes'.  This movie is done by the guy who brought you 'Paranormal Activity' so you can bet it will scare the crap out of you.  So, what took Hollywood so long to do a movie based on this horrible event?  Maybe waiting for some inspiration?  Or just the same cookie cutter format that all horror movies have gone with in the past decade.
