The Knicks fought hard but dug themselves much to big of a hole to climb out of in game four against the Celtics.

What a first round performance from the Boston Celtics.  They now move onto the second round of the NBA playoffs after sweeping the New York Knicks in four games.  The Knicks fought hard but just didn't have playoff experience to hang with the C's.  Final score of game four, 101-89.

Have to give credit where credit is due.  The Knicks were able to climb back within 4 points after being down by near 20 at the half but the Celtics bench came alive particularly Glen "Big Baby" Davis who had 14 points.  he spent much of his time in for Kevin Garnett who was in foul trouble in the first half.

The second half was a whole new game for KG who had 20 points in it as opposed to his 6 in the first. Paul Peirce who is always big for Boston added 13 points, Ray Allen with 14 but the big story continues to be Rajon Rondo. The Celtics point guard knocked down 21, 12 assists and 5 rebounds.  His performance is the last two games has been a huge help to Boston.

Things got heated a few times as well, as the will in the playoffs.  Delonte West and Amare Stoudemire got double technical fouls in the first half after Amare shoved West.  The T on Delonte West was ridiculous and even announcers Mike Breen and Mark Jackson agreed that West didn't do anything to deserve it, it was just crowd control by the refs.  Boston was blowing the Knicks away at that point.  Carmelo Anthony and Glen Davis shared words later after Davis fouled Anthony, but not much came of that.

I am very surprised that the Knicks didn't win at least one game of this series.  I thought for sure they would grab one at home after their great performances in Boston in games one and two.  Perhaps after they work together a little more  they will carry further into the playoffs next season.  I'm sure they will be there. As for the Celtics, they now wait for the winner of the Miami, Philly series. Philly was able to avoid the sweep today with a big last second win at home, 86-82.  That series moves back to Miami where the Heat need just one win to move on.
