Shinedown
Since their formation in Jacksonville Florida in 2002, Shinedown has been hitting the airwaves hard bringing a unique blend of alternative metal, hard rock, and grunge sounds to the table.
Godsmack
Godsmack is a heavy metal band that was formed in 1995 in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
Staind
Formed in 1995 in Springfield
Over the summer, local band Selfish Needy Creatures competed in the Play for the Stage contest, where a dozen bands performed over a span of three weeks, aiming at the shot of a lifetime- to open up for Godsmack at our Q-Ruption show. The quartet became finalists and ultimately won, and put on a great performance. Now, two months later, their 15 minutes of fame, literally, have made a big difference in their success as a band. Read on to see what the opportunity has done for them.
It was a long day at my "regular" job Friday, as I was anxious to get to the show and enjoy the people and music. After navigating the traffic on 787 to get to the sitter and drop off my daughter and then up to Saratoga and navigating the traffic at SPAC, I made it in alive!
The Free Beer & Hot Wings show was in town this past weekend and along with doing a live broadcast from the track in Saratoga, they also had Producer Joe do a stunt. They had a little trouble coming up with a stunt idea , so just screwing around with ideas at dinner on Thursday night I shot out the idea of Joe putting horse food in his shirt and having a horse eat out of it. The look at the table when the words came out of my mouth were that of amazement. The rest is history.
Oh man, I love this guy. Whenever he comes by he’s always as happy as can be and ready to rock. Even when he just has his acoustic, this guy brings it every time.
If you were at Q-Ruption you saw most of our staff join the guys from Free Beer and Hot Wings for stage announcements between the bands. Well, it’s kind of a funny situation to be in as you pretty much just wait on the side of the stage for your cue to go up there.
I was screwing around on YouTube when I found some great live footage from Q-Ruption this past Friday at SPAC. If you weren't there then you can enjoy some great video shot by the awesome Q103 listeners!
Get you photo with the Q-Tease?
Now it's a Q-Tease's turn to review! Obviously, our biggest concert of the year, Q-Ruption was last night, and a surprising 12,138 of you rockers came out to celebrate and enjoy it with us! I thoroughly enjoyed both Egypt Central and co-headliners Five Finger Death Punch, and thought they both put on a very worthy show.
