Santa Claus rules. Unless his beard gets stuck mid-mall stunt, then his cool status gets a little iffy. But otherwise, good ol' St. Nick is really awesome. Why? For starters, he has reindeer as pets, gives out presents for a living and gets thousands of free homemade cookies on Christmas Eve. Basically, the guy's livin' the life. It's no wonder he's survived to be like, hundreds of years old!

So Friday, December 21 is maaaaaaaybe going to be the apocalypse because a really old calendar ran out of space. It's already tomorrow in Australia, and people are reporting that it's fine. Of course other people are pointing out that the ancient Mayans weren't really operating on Greenwich Mean Time, so maybe Australia should just cool their jets. Some of us are calmly stuffing as much clothing as possible into our one measly carry-on bag for our Christmas trip home. Other people are taking more drastic measures. December 19, 2012 While most of us are bundling up with the dipping temperatures, a new fad has hit Facebook called "Frosting". What is it? Well, you wear summer-like clothes (speedos, swimwear, etc) in the cold or snow, take a picture, then post on the Frosters Anonymous page.
We love Santa. We really do! He's probably the coolest old guy we know, spending his life making presents, managing elves and eating cookies. Truth be told, we're sort of jealous. The jolly old guy usually looks bright and cheery and not all that scary, which is yet another reason we're fans.
Attention everyone: we now officially have T-minus eight days until Christmas, and preparation time is running out faster than we can shove holiday cookies in our mouths. We still have to buy last-minute presents, dig out those stockings from the back of our closets and make time for that awful office party.
This past Saturday, SantaCon took over New York City. For all of you unfamiliar with this classic American holiday, it's an entire day dedicated to dressing up like Santa Claus and getting a little crazy frolicking around with fellow Saint Nick look-a-likes. It's sort of like a massive Christmas flash mob that makes you feel like you're in a strange alternate universe, but it's actually totally awesome.
The Christmas comedy 'Elf' is about one of Santa's little helpers who learns that he is really human and then leaves the North Pole to seek out his birth family.
