A Capital Region area car dealership is now accepting Bitcoin as payment for cars, claiming to be the first in the area to do so.

According to the Times Union, Michael's Auto Plaza in East Greenbush is now accepting Bitcoin. Bitcoin is hot right now as just around a year ago one was worth less than $1,000 and today it is valued at $18,000 U.S. dollars. Bitcoin is a digital currency that works without a central bank or single administrator and now trades on future exchanges. It is a worldwide payment system that is the first of it's kind. It was invented in 2009 by an unknown person or group of people under the name Satoshi Nakamoto.

I honestly don't know a lot about bitcoins personally but I wish I had bought a bunch of shares some years back because I'd be living pretty good right about now! What are your thoughts on car dealers accepting bitcoins for payment?
