Now that we're in December, the Christmas spirit is in full swing.  If you're looking to take the kids out for a drive, in search of the area's most spectacular light displays or if you're in the need for a cute date night with the lady, we have the perfect place for you - The Capital Holiday Lights In The Park.

Not a year goes by that I don't drive around a few neighborhoods, gawking at the jaw-dropping light displays that some houses in the area boast.  Luckily, in the Capital Region, we have a place that sports numerous, colorful exhibits ready to draw "ooohhhs" from our mouths.  The Capital Holiday Lights in the Park!

The Park is located at the Washington Park entrance at Madison and New Scotland Ave.  For just $15.00 a car load (limos, buses and 15 passenger vans are more), you can cruise the park, listening to music and checking out some awesome holiday displays.

There are "special events" all the way up until Christmas as well.  Several times this month there will be live Reindeer visiting the Lake House, an abode featuring crafts, refreshments and the big guy himself, Santa Claus.

The Park will be open from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Sunday through Thursday and 6:00-10:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays until January, 4th.  The Lake House will be closed December 24th and 25th (Santa is sort of busy these days, no?) as well as December 31st-January 4th.

The video is a tad old but will give you a general idea.  We can't post the 2012 displays, we don't want to ruin your drive ;-)   Will you be going to the lights this year?
