Communities come together in the face of tragedy. We saw that recently in Shenendehowa-Shaker car crash. The following however, I don't see much as a tragedy nor news but it's out there and I have to share it for the simple stupidity of the matter.

An elk (not pictured) was recently shot and killed by an on-duty police officer in Boulder, CO after it had wondered into a neighborhood. The officer in question has been put on leave until the investigation is complete. Yes, there is nothing better to do in Boulder, CO then investigate an elk shooting. The officer says the elk appeared to be injured when he approached it. State Wildlife Officials are also investigating the matter.

To make matters more interesting, a candlelight vigil was recently held by those in the neighborhood. The makeshift memorial featured candles and crowds of people singing songs, telling stories, etc. The attendance was to be "several hundred" by the report below.
